Downvotes

Twitter wanted to run an experiment on a downvotes feature and I was brought in to lead the content design for the effort. The idea behind the feature was to encourage people to downvote content that wasn’t relevant or contributing to the conversation and then use that feedback to prioritize higher-quality content. Given that “downvote” can mean different things across languages and platforms, my goal was to create content that was clear, straightforward, and easy to understand.
